Sephiroth ran for his life. Far from any cave that he knew of, he tried to out run the dawn itself, searching for a dark spot where he could sleep. He was exhausted, and the night's kill hadn't done much to help that. He had decided to pick a knight for there strength and he had succeded, so now he wouldn't have to feed for a few days. But, the knight had not gone out with a fight. A long, gashing scar was across his chest, and his shirt was falling off, displaying the hard musces underneath. He heard music ahead, and put on an extra burst of speed. Just then, the dawn reached over the hills, and directlly landed on Sephiroth back. Falling for the pain, he landed underneath a small patch of shaodw, from a small rocky outcrop. Breathing heavily, he screamed as his burnt back grazed the side of the rocks. His wounds would heal at night when he fed and know all he could do, was hope that no one found him.

A slight jingling could be heard coming in the direction to pass him on the way to the sounds of the music. Suddenly the sound stopped, moments later a soft woman's touch could be felt lifting up the wounded. Ayden knew exactly what he was, but it wasn't in her to leave a helpless traveler in need. With the man flung over her shoulder she continued on her way toward the sound of the music. "You'll be alright...So long as you tell none of this place and keep the promise that you will not harm anyone you see while in this place." She comforted and warned at the same time as she made her graceful movements towart the forest dwelling.

Sephiroth lifted his head with effort and nodded, giving his word as long as she would get him out from underneath the blazing beacon in the sky. He had never seen the sun, and even know, his dark eyes swelled with tears against the blaring brightness. How could someone live underneath that great ball of fire? Then out of exhaustion, his body went limp and he passed out.

Soon he was inside the trunk of one of Taen's trees, safe from the light. The largest of the dwellings was saved for the gypsy princess of course. As she transfered things to and from her bag she sang to herself a soft tune...closer to humming since there were no words, just a lovely melody. As she picked out new things for her travel bag she every now and then glanced to her rescue, wondering when or if he'd wake up.

He could feel himself twitching violently in his shoulders and legs. It frightened him, then he realised why. He was dreaming. He had never dreamed before, but it wasn't a nice experince, it was a nightmare. The blazing orb followed him, and then he realised that he wasn't dreaming. He had actually seen the sun. Opening his eyes, the darkness was a sudden blessing and he scrambled up. Where was he? His shirt was ripped to shreds, and not really doing it's job, so he ripped it off and tossed it to the floor, searching around him...

Ayden looked up from what she was doing, instantly quieted from the surprise. "Good. You're awake." She said, stating the obvious. As she looked over him she noticed his shirt. After a moment of digging through her things she found a perfect replacement. "You're in Taen...You passed out just outside the safegrounds...Do you remember your promise?" She asked as she handed him a white long sleeved shirt.

Sephiroth took the shirt as he nodded his head. He was not surprised at what he had to promise, since every town he passed would let him stay outside the town boundry’s as long as he didn’t touch anyone. He pulled the shirt over his back, and as the fabric touched the burns he drew a sharp intake of breath. He hoped it would heal. He sucked a breath in and looked into his saviors eyes. “You Have my word.”

Her eyes closed a bit hearing his pain. She was too kind sometimes. "Here take it off again. I have something that should help with the pain." She said as she went into her travel bag, pulling out a small box, no bigger then her palm all the way around. She went to the bed with it open, inside was a white paste, cool to the touch.

Carefully taking off his shirt, he folded it beside him and sat with his back straight, displaying his chest muscles. He didn't like pastes but if it made the burn go away. He stared at her looking into her eyes, his own, flashing red. "Why do you help me? You could have left me in the sun to burn?"

"It wouldn't have been right." She said as she situated herself behind him. After a moment of looking over his burns she scooped a bit of the pain killer out of the box with her middle and index finger. "This may feel cold." She warned before smearing some gently onto one of the burns.

Sephiroth breathed deep in a hiss as the paste touched his skin. It stung for a bit but then felt good, and his muscles instantly relaxed. He let his eyes close as he breathed deep through his mouth. HIs finger idily tapped as the lotion was rubbed into his skin. The smell of it filled his nose but he could still smell the wood and earthy things that surrounded them. Finally, he stood and faced her. "I shouldn't stay here. It's not safe for your people.." he wasn't talking about his thirst or what he could do if he lost control, but the fact that his father's headtaker's still hunted him, even though he was well past his family's boundries. She had shown him kindness and he wanted to return the favor.

Her touch was soft and gentle, like a mother caressing her child. "Whys that? You've sworn your control over your hunger haven't you?" She asked as she finished up on his back, putting the paste away.
